Mike McKenna
Mike grew up in the Bay Area - born in Redwood City, grew up in San Jose, and moved to the East Bay when he went to Cal a long time ago. He has always been a scientist and engineer at heart, taking things apart and putting them back together again since he was little, and the same applies to his faith. Even though he grew up in the Episcopal Church and was even an acolyte, he fell away from the church in his teens. Some close friends of his became Jesus Freaks in the mid-70's and challenged Mike to read the Bible, which he did, from Genesis to Revelations. And took comparative religion classes at Cal just to be sure. After studying the Bible for three years, and praying, and witnessing a few miracles along the way, Mike gave his heart to the Lord in 1980 and has been growing ever since. He has been active in short-term missions, various missions boards, Perspectives on the World Christian Movement, prayer ministries, and is a board member for an orphanage in India - Little Flock Children's Home. As the nest emptied, Mike and his wife Mary snuck into Regen a few years ago while their daughter Ali was off in Europe learning Spanish for the summer.

Joe Ellison / Worship Director
Joe was born in Chicago as the youngest of 8 kids and moved to California in the ‘80s when his mom met his stepdad. A pivotal moment for Joe was when a childhood Sunday school teacher grew frustrated with his clowning around and reminded him of eternity and taking Jesus more seriously. At sixteen, Joe started playing guitar which led to majoring in music at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) in San Diego. While serving on the PLNU chapel worship team, he discovered a passion for worship and music. Along with being on staff at Regeneration Church and working in ministry for decades, Joe leads and plays in Run With Patience, an international traveling band that has played abroad in countries including Mexico, France, Serbia, and Ukraine and soon will travel to Scotland, Ireland, and Africa. Brent Loo
Brent has endeavored to follow Jesus since middle school (last century!). He and his wife Kristin have been married for just shy of 31 years and are in the "sandwich" years between caring for his parents and guiding three adult children. Brent is an Oakland native who successfully managed all but the last five years of life without his own cell phone. Brent and Kristin are happy to have found Regeneration and look forward to what God has in store for them.

Justin Yee
Justin is an Oakland native, Cal grad, and currently works as a Project Manager for federal infrastructure projects. He was introduced to Jesus by his cousins and grew up in a multigenerational church in Chinatown. While searching for more fellowship with people in the same stage of life, he found Regeneration and has been blessed by fellowship and serving here since.
